Where to look for more information
Citizen’s Advice Bureau

The Citizen’s Advice website has more information on the different types of benefits that may be available, such as Universal Credit, benefits for those on low income and benefits for carers and disabled people. You can also contact one of their advisers, or your local benefits advisor, who would be able to advise you on what benefits you may be entitled to and how much you would get each week.

Department for Work and Pensions

There are many booklets on benefits available from the Department for Work and Pensions, particularly focussing on benefits and financial support if you’re disabled or have a health condition.

Carers UK

The Carers UK website has lots of useful information about what benefits you may be entitled to if you spend a lot of time caring for someone with an illness or disability.

Disability Rights UK

Another great resource is the Disability Rights UK website, which has lots of information about support available to disabled people, such as benefits and other financial support.

If you are worried about what the recent UK Government’s proposed changes to PIP (Personal Independence Payment) and other benefits may mean for you, this page from Disability Rights UK summarises what the changes mean.
