Collect as many prizes as possible and do one large raffle in your local community. You could ask people to buy specific numbers on a chart or buy raffle tickets. If you have good prizes, then you could ask for £5 or even £10 per ticket depending on the quality of prizes.
To get prizes you can approach your local supermarkets, off licenses, and local shops asking for donations. You could even contact football clubs, rugby clubs or even national teams or hotels to see if they’d be willing to donate as many have a strong community emphasis and really try to support charities. They are usually very good at donating and if needed we can provide you with a letter of authorisation confirming that you are raising funds on behalf of The Pituitary Foundation.
Many volunteers have run raffles on our behalf, and there’s been some great raffle prizes, including days out, signed football or rugby shirts, spa breaks and copious amounts of alcohol.
Once you’ve done your fundraising event, you need to pay the money to The Pituitary Foundation. You could do this via bank transfer, over the phone or using the donation function on our website.
Hosting fundraising events is a great way to support our work supporting people with pituitary conditions, and to raise awareness! You never know what conversations you may have with others who donate money or attend events. If you are planning on hosting an event, please let us know so that we can support you in whatever way we can. Email [email protected].
