Volunteer achievements this week
We’d like to share a few of our volunteers’ achievements within the last week. We have an amazing team of over 130 volunteers, without them, we would not be able to continue to support the thousands of people affected by pituitary conditions who rely on us for information and support.
- Howard, one of Telephone Buddies who specialises in employment and benefits advice, supports a good few patients each week and reported this week he had helped one patient get their benefits reinstated. Great result Howard!
- Mike, one of our Area Coordinators, managed to expand his Support Group even further to cover a new area - Taunton. His group now has 2 meetings a year in each of the 5 areas it covers - Exeter, Plymouth, Torbay, Truro & Taunton! An amazing achievement!
- Our dedicated Helpline Operators helped our staff cover a busy week on the Helpline, answering calls and providing patients and families with information and caring support.
- Niall, Area Coordinator in Republic of Ireland, offered to attend The World Alliance of Pituitary Organisations annual meeting to represent The Foundation and The ROI Group. The event will be held in Venice in April. WAPO is a global network of national pituitary patient organisations working to improve diagnosis, treatment and care for pituitary and adrenal patients worldwide. A huge thank you to Niall for going to the event and to his group who will be funding half of the cost.
