Patient Stories Needed
We are looking forward to launching our 'Think Pituitary' campaign for Awareness Month 2021. We will sharing more details about the campaign and how to get involved shortly.
We will be raising awareness about vital, continued education for the health care professionals (HCPs) caring for, and managing, pituitary patients’ replacement life-sustaining medications, such as hydrocortisone and desmopressin. These are critical for life.
Our key message is that all HCPs can avoid preventable harm, for those who have secondary adrenal insufficiency and diabetes insipidus. Hydrocortisone and/or desmopressin should never be stopped, should be given when needed and doses never altered, unless specifically requested by the patient’s endocrinologist.
We are including patients’ experiences and these can be anonymised. Would you be happy to have your experience in A&E included? If so, please email your story (max. 500 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org by 17th Sept 2021.
