We know that the current test for growth hormone deficiency is unpleasant, so we are pleased to have been part of the creation of a new growth hormone test for adults.
Macimorelin is the first and only oral GH stimulation test, and licensed for use in adult growth hormone deficiency. The burden of testing that have been carried out for many years with the traditional tests, e.g. (ITT, Glucagon etc) is substantial, which were found from patients’ experiences given on our recent survey.
This new test is quick, simple and takes 90 minutes from start to finish – easier and less stressful for the patient. The patient is given the oral suspension, and then blood samples taken at 45, 60 and 90 minutes. Macimorelin is now launched and will be available in UK wholesalers in early/mid-May.
