Desmopressin Refusal Letter

This letter has been produced for patients in the event of an emergency situation, where you are refused desmopressin, by a health care professional. If the health care professional refuses you desmopressin, you or your family can ask the individual to sign this letter.

Once it is signed and dated, this letter could go into your hospital notes. In any event, if you are in A&E or on a hospital ward, the patient or their family  should insist on the HCP urgently contacting the endocrinologist on call. Hopefully, this letter will never need to be signed as the HCP reading it should understand the necessity of treatment for the patient’s safety.
