Are you or someone you love or care for living with diabetes, obesity or an endocrine disease? Would you like to have your views shape future health research?
Mabadiliko CIC is working with King’s Health Partners to increase opportunities for minoritised or marginalised communities to take part in health research, which aims to find new and better ways of preventing, diagnosing, and treating disease.
Your views and experiences matter! We want to ensure that your voice is heard to improve opportunities for under-represented people living with obesity, diabetes or endocrine diseases to take part in research.
You can take part if you are an adult (18 years old+) from South East London with lived experience of conditions related to obesity, diabetes and/or other endocrine diseases (either personally or through care of a loved one). We are especially keen to hear from those who are neurodivergent, identify as Black African or Caribbean / South Asian / Latin American heritage, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people living with disabilities, those with mental health disorders, and/or people experiencing poverty.
If you would like to be involved, please complete the following survey to let us know a bit more about your awareness of health research, and any experiences you’ve had taking part in health research: [ Click here to fill our survey! ]
10 people who fill out the survey will be randomly selected to win £25 in Amazon vouchers. We’ll also be conducing two 2hr online focus groups in July/August with up to 50 people, where we will gather invaluable insights on what participants need and what we can do to increase access to health research. Further details on what will be involved are contained in the survey. Focus group participants will receive up to £80 in Amazon vouchers as compensation for their time and contributions.
